Creepy Dinosaurs

Long-haired dinosaurs playing heavy metal sums it all up– The usual heavy metal fan may not be a five-year-old girl in pigtails, but she is typical of hardcore following of Hevisaurus, a metal band that has hooked the kiddie crowd in Finland. The youngest fan at Haemeenlinna was a two-month-old baby who wore protective earmuffs and slept through the show which, like all of Hevisaurus' gigs, was played live at child-friendly decibel levels. Would you take your children to this, is this disturbing, tell me whatever.

Super Rare Borneo Rhino

A rare Borneo rhino, thought to be pregnant, has been caught on camera in Malaysia, and wildlife experts said a new calf would be a lifeline for the near-extinct species. Just 30 rhinos remain in the wild in Borneo island, which is shared by Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei, and researchers are only able to monitor the population through images captured on remote camera traps.Images of the rhino, "believed to be a pregnant female, estimated to be below 20 years" were captured by a camera trap in February.Just say whatever about this.

One Happy Seal Year!

Usually a banner month for seal hunting, this April has seen a shortage in seals due to lack of sea ice during a record-warm Canadian winter, and, according to officials and sealers. The Fisheries Minister increased the allowable catch of harp seals this season to 330,000, up by 50,000 from previous seasons, defying a ban on seal products. However, most of Canada’s 6,000 sealers were unable to find buyers by the lack of available ice floes for the first time in 60 years and there has been an over-abundance of birthing pups. Do you think this is good news?

Eagle Mating Death

An acrobatic display of passion proved too much for a pair of eagles engaged in a mating dance. The female bird (right) is recovering from an injured wing and other injuries sustained when the couple slammed beak-first into a hard snowbank in what her rescuers believe was an aerial courting ritual gone awry. The male eagle died in the impact, which left the birds buried upside down at least two feet in the snow. What do you think about this?

Super 4x4 Elephants

Elephants' legs work like a four-wheel drive vehicle, making them probably unique in the animal kingdom. Their "four-leg-drive" system means power is applied independently to each limb. All other four-legged animals are thought to have "rear-leg-drive", in which the hind legs are used for acceleration while the front legs are used more for braking. The scientists found that each limb was used for both braking and accelerating. Do you think that this Super Elephant has 4x4?

The Super Black Penguine

King Penguins are notorious for their prim, tuxedo appearance, but a recently discovered all-black penguin seems unafraid to defy convention. In what has been described as a "one in a zillion kind of mutation," biologists say that the animal has lost control of its pigmentation, an occurrence that is extremely rare. Do you think this penguin is special or a penguin going emo.
